Unicorn Deal of 2022

In a 'unicorn' deal, Paul Hastings steals 43 lawyers from Strook’s restructuring team. The 43 consist of 18 partners, 25 associates and a counsel. The group is led by Kristopher Hansen, who will become co-chair of the restructuring practice at Paul Hastings. Hansen told Reuters that Paul Hastings’ biggest attraction was its international presence with overseas offices in five cities, opposed to Strook’s only four city US presence. Stroock co-chair Jeff Keitelman told law.com that Strook is sadded by the group’s departure but continues to be committed to its midsized approach and wishes them all the best.
